Moira Jenkins

Moira worked for a number of years as a psychologist in the area of pain management where she assisted people to cope with long-term health and pain problems as well as coping with chronic illnesses. She worked with individuals, couples and families to assist them cope and adapt to the changes that these conditions have had on their lives.
While working in that area she became interested in the extent that workplace stress can impact on a persons physical and psychological health. She currently does a lot of work with employees who have been bullied or have suffered workplace trauma. Most of these people have developed stress related problems and are finding it difficult to cope with what is happening at work and the impact that this is having at home. She is registered with Workcover.
Through her company called ‘Aboto’ (this stands for 'A Branch Over Troubled Oceans', www.aboto.com.au), she provides Employee Assistance Services to a number of organisations. She is a trained mediator with LEADR, and has an interest in helping organisations to address workplace conflicts before they escalate.
Moira is doing a PhD in the area of helping organisations respond to workplace bullying and harassment better.
Moira has a special interest in assisting people overcome problems such as:
- Anxiety, including post traumatic stress disorder
- Chronic pain or illness, long term medical conditions
- Depression
- Bereavement and grief
- Workplace stress/ bullying, and return to work following workplace injury
- Conflict management/ anger management
